Step 3: Prep Your Pumpkin

Cut a circular lid around the stem of your pumpkin, angling the knife inward so the lid doesn’t fall through. Make sure the lid is large enough for your hand to easily reach inside the pumpkin.

Once you have your lid cut, scoop out all the seeds and stringy bits until the inside is smooth. You can throw these out, or use the seeds and insides to make a sweet treat after you’re done carving your pumpkin! Make sure to carve out a flat surface at the bottom of the pumpkin so you can place your light inside securely.

Step 4: Carve with Care
